Events

I regularly travel around Australia sharing my knowledge on plastic pollution and my experiences from the expedition to the Gyre and showing films on the subject. Most events include the ‘Bag It’ documentary, some include the One Beach film and all include a presentation by me. I continue to schedule events around Australia and would love to hear from anyone interested in helping me organise/ promote these great/ informative nights out.

Confirmed upcoming dates:

NSW

Sydney – Friday August 24th, 7pm, Bondi Pavillion, Seagull Room. Bag It documentary and presentation by Tim Silverwood. Supported by Waverley Council.

Keep up to date with future events on our Facebook and through Tim Silverwood’s events page here.

Additional Info

You can also purchase the Bag It movie from the official website here.

The film explores our daily reliance on plastic and how this threatens not only waterways and marine life, but human health, too. Two of the most common plastic additives are endocrine disruptors, which have been shown to link to cancer, diabetes, autism, attention deficit disorder, obesity and infertility. I encourage everyone to watch this incredibly important film.

    Hi Tim
    Great you are doing this!
We – Fishcare and Coastcare volunteer groups, collect plastic washed up around Long Reef Sydney Northern Beaches each week by the bin full.
Want to support you program and promote it anyway we can.
Wish to post something our our website – a link to what’s happening.
    Please advise what you suggest.

    Brisbane???

    • Hi Nicole, I’m coming to Brisbane on the 15th November for two days. I have a screening at Underwater World in Moloolalaba on Tuesday night and then Capalaba on the Wednesday night. Hope to meet you there!

I was at the presentation and screening of Bag It at Mosman Art Gallery tonight. Came away feeling pretty saddened by the mess we’ve made of the planet with our wasteful behavior. But also inspired to keep doing our bit to reduce, reuse and spread the word.

Thanks so much for a fantastic evening – film and presentation both excellent.
    Cheers, Carol.
